Melodeon player, singer, bagpiper, composer and arranger, he was born in Milan in 1970 and has always dealt with folk music.
He has founded many folk music groups, as terantiqua in 1991, with whom he won the first Folkontest, established by the Folkermesse of Casale Monferrato (AL) in 1994 and, in the same year, the band took part to the prestigious interceltic Festival of Lorient in Brittany. In 1996 he founded La Magiostra, a workshop-band fusing together folk music of different origins and modern music languages. In 1998 he founded Musicanta, the first band that blended the Italian traditional music with the Canadian-Quebecoise sonority; in 2000 he founded din delòn, a band with whom he toured half of Europe and recorded two CDs.
He was melodeon player of the bands Picotage (French music), ‘O Calascione (music from the South of Italy) and bagpiper of the ancient music band La chambre du Roy Renè.
In 2006 he founded Andrea Capezzuoli e Compagnia, a polyhedric project ranging from the music of Quebec to the European folk dances. With this band he is currently treading the boards of the most important Italian and European festivals.
Since 2007 he is the melodeon player of the band BandaBrisca from Genova. He also plays the “musa”, the Apennine bagpipe, in duet with Francesco Nastasi, with whom he recorded the first album of music from the “Quattro province”, fully played by the ancient couple “pipe-musa”. This album was awarded with the “Bravos” from the French magazine "TRAD Magazine", one of the best European awards in the folk music field. The trio with Francesco Nastasi and Franco Guglielmetti, well known accordionist from Piacenza, has given birth to the band Matapeuxi.
Since 2009 he has been working with Michel Esblin, the French player of cabrette, the bagpipe from Auvergne, region of the centre of France. This cooperation has led to the foundation of the duo Charlot et Toinou.
He has played all over Italy and in various European countries (Belgium, Holland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Austria, France, Switzerland). He has to his credits a thousand concerts, ten recordings and the participation in several radio and television programs, including “Follia Rotolante” of RAIDUE.
He is melodeon teacher since 1996. He currently teaches for CPSM, based at the conservatory “G.Verdi” in Milan. He has led melodeon workshops in Italy and abroad (Belgium, Holland, Germany).
